What Time Does the Super Bowl Halftime Show 2012 Start? Watch Teasers Here [VIDEOS]
Super Bowl Sunday 2012 is finally here, as the New York Giants gear up to take on the New England Patriots at 6:30 p.m. EST live from Indianapolis.
Although the rivalry for Super Bowl XLVI might cause some excitement, there is another event Sunday night that will really get the blood pumping – Madonna’s first-ever Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.
The Queen of Pop will take to the stage Sunday night and perform for more than 110 million. “I am so excited to be here [and] incredibly nervous,” she told reporters. “This is a Midwesterner girl’s dream, to be performing the Super Bowl halftime, so if I speak fast or run out of breath, you’ll know why.” Because of the immense exposure, Madonna is doing this one for free. Instead of a paycheck, she will get promotion for her new album “MDNA” out March 26.

For someone who has traveled the world and has been acknowledged as one of the most famous superstars of all time, Madonna said that the Super Bowl Halftime Show 2012 will be one of her proudest moments. “I’m sure of all the things I’ve ever done in my life, this will be the thing he’s [her father] most excited about,” she laughed.
“I was raised in the Midwest, and he is the personification of Midwestern values. He gave me the work ethic that I have, so if I’m a hard-working girl that never stops, it’s because of him.”
Madonna, who recovered just in time from a hurt leg and a bumped nose, insisted that there will be no wardrobe malfunctions at her performance, a la Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2004.
“Great attention to detail has been paid to my wardrobe. There will be no wardrobe malfunctions. Promise,” she told reporters. Madonna is the first female invited back to perform at the Super Bowl since Jackson’s nip-slip.
Here are all the details you need to know for the Super Bowl Halftime Show 2012 plus two teaser clips to hold you over until Sunday night.
Start Time
Super Bowl 2012 will start at 6:30 p.m. EST. Since football is notorious for its stoppages, penalties and tons of Super Bowl commercials, you can expect Madonna to hit the stage at approximately 8:00 p.m. or 8:15 p.m. EST. Madonna revealed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” that she has a 12-minute set, with an eight-minute set-up and a seven-minute strike
Performers
Madonna is not the only big name to hit the stage Sunday night. She will be joined by rap goddess Nicki Minaj, MIA, Cee Lo Green and LMFAO.
Set-List
Madonna’s set-list has also been revealed, though it is likely that surprise songs will be added in as every showman loves to give the crowd an unexpected thrill.
Madonna’s set-list currently includes: “Gimmie All Your Luvin,” “Ray of Light,” “Vogue,” “Music” and “Holiday.” Minaj and MIA are both featured on Madonna’s new song, “Gimmie All Your Luvin,” and appear in the music video.

How cool was it to watch the Rangers and Cardinals players stop what they were doing to stand up at the dugouts and support SU2C during that World Series game last fall?
29. Ichiro. For the first time in 2011, he failed to reach 200 hits, bat .300 and make the All-Star Game. All he did was get 184 hits in 161 games and steal 40 bases for the Mariners

End of NBA Lockout is Finally Here: A Fan’s Opinion
It looks like the NBA lockout might finally be ending. A tentative deal has been reached between the two sides. Pending a formal vote that seems like a mere formality, the NBA season would begin on December 25. The season would last 66 games. As a Philadelphia 76ers fan, I’m a little surprised that the lockout looks to be over. Of course, I’m happy about the news. Now the new era of 76ers basketball can finally start.
Assuming the deal is ratified, it will be a fast offseason for the NBA. Free agency and training camp will begin around December 9. That leaves just two weeks before the start of the regular season. In the case of the 76ers, I’m not really expecting any huge free agent signings. But there is the possibility of trades and other roster moves. I’m not sure what the team can do in such a short amount of time. Of course, the Philadelphia Eagles were able to take advantage of a short offseason after the NFL lockout.
I like the 66 game season even though it will only be a one year thing. I always thought that the 82 game season was too long. I’ll be curious to see how the NBA adjusts the schedule. I hope they don’t take away from divisional games. I’d rather see the 76ers play more divisional games than games against teams from the Western Conference. It should be interesting to see how the league handles this situation.
While those are things to consider, they will work out. The real thing to focus on is that the league is back. That is great news for a team like the 76ers. This is a young team with a great coach and exciting new ownership. There is bright future in Philadelphia and now that the lockout is ending, I can’t wait to see what the owners have in store now that they can focus on real games. I’m glad the two sides were able to finally work this out. Now, I can look forward to seeing what the 76ers have planned for the offseason and how they look on the court in the second season under Collins.

Drake’s ‘Take Care’ Leaks: Early Thoughts & Sales Predictions? [Click Here & Speak]
SOHH Whatcha Think: Drake’s ‘Take Care’ Leaks: Early Thoughts & Sales Predictions? [Click Here & Speak]
Monday, Nov 7, 2011 12:05AM
Welp, another YMCMB production is spreading across the internet faster that a celebrity sex tape. You would think after Weezy’s C4 spilled into public hands before its official release date that greater precautions would be taken to make sure Drake’s sophomore LP didn’t suffer the same fate, but think again. Take Care has leaked, and if you listen close enough, you can hear millions of copies being downloaded at this very second.
[Editor's Note: The views expressed in this column do not necessarily reflect those of SOHH]
Prior to the album’s release, Drizzy hit us with the singles “Headlines” and “Marvin’s Room”. Like his pre-album singles from his debut, these tracks became wildly popular on commercial radio. Not a bad way to build up anticipation for your second disc. Add this to the fact that he’s been working on this project for some time, and people have been waiting to see if this new one could outdo the acclaim and sales of his previous effort.
I’m predicting between 350-450K album’s sold for Take Care’s first week. What kind of numbers are you expecting it to put up? Also, for those of you that have heard the … advanced version of this release, how does it stack up to Thank Me Later?

Happy Halloween! Here are some costume ideas from the sports world
by Bob Young, columnist – Oct. 30, 2011 07:17 PMThe Arizona Republic
We love Halloween here at The Heat Index, and not just because there always seem to be little candy bars within reach.
No, what makes it really fun are the costumes.
Of course, if you haven’t figured out what you’ll be wearing at this point, then you’re going to need some help.
Relax. That’s where we come in.
The wide world of sports always provides plenty of costume ideas that usually don’t require much more than a jersey, a few props and a small mind . . . er . . . a little imagination.
Try one of these:
- Larry Fitzgerald: Just wear a Cardinals No. 11 jersey, a wig of long braided hair and go to every party by yourself.
- Mike Stoops: Slip on a University of Arizona football polo and ballcap, then bury the head of an axe into your neck. Enjoy!
- Fiesta Bowl executive: Simply wear a canary-yellow blazer and make it rain.
- David Stern: To capture the NBA commissioner you’ll need an expensive suit and a smug expression.
Bring a pie with you. It doesn’t matter what kind of pie as long as you refuse to give anybody a piece of it unless it is sliced exactly down the middle first.
- Tom Brady: Apply a little eye black, put on a Justin Bieber wig and wear a Patriots No. 12 jersey.
Oh, and bring a super model with you.
- Hank Williams Jr.: You’ll need a cowboy hat, a leather vest, aviator sunglasses, a fake or real beard and a buddy willing to dress up as Adolf Hitler and carry a set of golf clubs. (Warning: you could be asked to leave.)
- Tim Tebow: Join the legions that already have purchased a Tebow Broncos jersey, and then whenever anything good happens – someone hands you a beer, a girl asks for your phone number – drop to a knee and bow your head.
- Tiger Woods: Wear a red Nike golf shirt, a black Nike cap, gray trousers and a golf glove.
Here’s the tricky part: Go to the party and disappear.
- Jim Tressel: Slip into a gray sweater vest, put on a pair of bookish spectacles and slap a “slightly revised edition” sticker on a copy of the book “The Winners Manual: For the Game of Life.”
- Metta World Peace: Wear a Lakers jersey, a puzzled look and bleached-blond hair. Then dance really badly.
- Occupy Phoenix protester: All that’s necessary is a Suns jersey and a sign that says: “Stop corporate greed: Settle the lockout and get us a damn power forward.”
Now stand outside Robert Sarver’s office.
- Terry Francona: Start with a Red Sox pullover and cap. Carry a pink slip, some fried chicken and a six-pack of “Rally Beers.”
You’re good to go, but if you really want to sell it, choke on the chicken bone and cough up a nine-game lead.
- Brian Wilson: This would be our choice.
Simply don a San Francisco Giants cap, wear a ridiculously long, thick, coal-black beard, put on some Ray-Bans and purchase a Taco Bell chalupa.
Generously spread chalupa throughout the beard and tell everyone you’re feeling pretty delicious right now.
- Kevin Kolb: Put on a Cardinals helmet and a No. 4 Cardinals jersey. Spend the whole time on your back.
- ”The Walking Dead”: Zombies and the AMC series are all the rage.
So do the zombie look but wear your favorite NBA jersey, because that league is about to become dead to us.
You also could go with a zombie in a Cardinals jersey, being that at 1-6 they are dead men walking.
